diving in cyprus

Cyprus offers a wide variety of dive sites, many of them right on our doorstep. Conditions are reliably good throughout most of the year, with exceptional visibility and almost no currents or tidal influence. The underwater world here is genuinely impressive, shaped by striking rock formations that sometimes open into caves or tunnels. These structures provide shelter for a range of marine life, although Cyprus isn’t known for having large schools of fish or big species.

What the island does offer is a unique mix of natural and man‑made highlights: an underwater sculpture park in Ayia Napa, several smaller wrecks that have been sunk to create artificial reefs and of course the world‑famous wreck of the MS Zenobia in Larnaca.

The main season for underwater adventures runs from April to November, though it’s still possible to dive during the winter months. In winter, the water temperature is around 16–18°C. Starting in April at roughly 18°C, the water gradually warms up and reaches its peak in July and August with temperatures exceeding 30°C.
