Who we are

Hydrosphere Dive Club was founded in 2024 by Andrei with the vision of creating a small, personal, and modern dive club — a place where divers of all levels feel supported, seen, and inspired. What began with a strong focus on freediving soon grew to include scuba diving as well, following the same philosophy of individual attention, quality training, and meaningful time in the water. Hydrosphere specializes in private courses and small groups only, ensuring a calm and tailored learning experience.

In 2026, Angie joined the team as a Scuba Instructor, taking care of the scuba programs while Andrei continues to focus mainly on freediving. Together, they shape Hydrosphere into a welcoming home for ocean lovers in the heart of Protaras, where your endless summer begins.

Molchanov Freediving Instructor / RAID Scuba Instructor

English, German, Hungarian

Andrei’s passion for the underwater world began in childhood, when he first fell in love with snorkeling. Many years later, he left his home country, Austria, and moved to Cyprus, where he discovered freediving in 2020. From the very first breath‑hold, he knew this was what he wanted to dedicate his life to.

Since then, he has spent countless hours exploring the waters around Cyprus and refining his skills in freediving. Eventually, Andrei also ventured into scuba diving, continuing to train with the same determination and curiosity. His commitment paid off when he earned his Scuba Instructor certificate in Cyprus, followed by his Freediving Instructor qualification in Malta. With both worlds now fully open to him, he took the step that had long been his dream: founding Hydrosphere Dive Club and beginning his professional journey in the diving industry.

Andrei’s passion is immediately recognizable. With great joy — and always with the highest standards of safety and professionalism — he supports and motivates his students, helping them reach their full potential underwater.

PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT)

English, (Swiss) German

Angie’s diving career began in 2017, when she completed her Open Water Diver course in the US. She quickly became hooked and continued pursuing her new passion back home in Switzerland. There, she gained a lot of experience before taking the next step and becoming a Divemaster in 2023. Afterwards, Angie joined the team of a local dive center in Zurich and also got the opportunity to work as a Polar Dive Guide on expedition cruises to Antarctica — something she continues to do during the winter season.

After almost two years of guiding dives and assisting with courses, it was time for her next milestone: becoming a Scuba Instructor. That’s when she moved to Cyprus for the season to do the course and work as a Scuba Instructor. But the warm, crystal‑clear waters of the island of sun convinced her to stay rather than go back to Switzerland.

Now she calls Cyprus her home and she joined Hydrosphere to establish and grow the scuba diving part of the center. While sharing the same passion and joy for the underwater world as Andrei, she continues to inspire her students to discover the beautiful world beneath the surface.
